The ECB is against ticket touting, and is committed to eradicating it wherever possible. We are committed to making the game as accessible as possible, and we understand that ticket touting excludes those who cannot afford inflated prices of tickets and we strongly discourage people from buying tickets from unofficial sources – tickets could be fake, duplicates or could have been cancelled by the ECB/venue. 
  
Such tickets that are sold on or transferred are likely to be in breach of ticket conditions and may be cancelled and the ticket holder risks being refused entry into the ground. Warning messages go out every year on our website, in every ticket wallet, on posters around the grounds, on underground sites, and on-line using our social media. 
  
We also monitor online auction and ticket re-sale sites and take action where necessary, however, we are limited in what we can do and have been calling for many years on the Government to take action to make it an offence to tout tickets for major sporting events. They did do this for the Olympics (with much success) but have sadly so far refused to give the same protection to cricket fans. We are at present challenging the Government in the House of Lords to try and increase the consumer protection for spectators on this very issue.
